Recently a friend of mine got dumped and we spent of weekend just ranting about how evil men can be and why they might just need to be wiped off of the planet. Brian, sweetheart that he was, tried to help out by doing an ice-cream run at like 3 in the morning. By the end of the weekend, my friend was no longer in a man-hating stage and simply wanted to know how to get your ex boyfriend back and make it work.
Of course the first thing I said was, seriously? Um, my blog? But since she was still upset I didn’t hassle her too much about not having any idea that I even had a blog on the subject and just tried to help her out.
I started out by trying to let her know that she might need some time to think before she makes any big moves, but I could see that she was going to be set on trying to win ex boyfriend points somehow. I tried to layout what I had done, what I had changed and so on, but eventually I just told her she probably should just read Get Him Back Forever because I think I was just confusing her.
I was a little worried about it. Not all relationships are meant to be after all. After a couple of weeks though it was pretty obvious that she was dead set on getting back together with her ex and all I could really do was try to be supportive. The heart wants what the heart wants and her dedication was there, she even read my blog.

It didn’t take her long to breeze through the book and begin applying the methods to her strategy. We did do some shopping too, which I believe always helps a girl feel a bit more positive. Especially when you find that one, perfect dress that you know will make your ex want you so bad he can’t stand it. Yea, that always helps.
Though she didn’t go about it in exactly the same way, the applications from the book were sound and the guy she had her sights on DID come back asking for a second chance. So now I have been able to witness firsthand how even two completely different types of women and relationships can be helped using this advice. This naturally made me want to write about it and after some heavy persuading and promise not to use any names, she agreed. Thanks honey.
As for my own relationship, things are still going strong. Not only did I learn how to get back together, but how to keep things going well, hopefully forever. Every day I try to remember how absolutely miserable I was when Brian and I were apart so that I can be grateful for what we have now. I did find out he was in a pretty bad state too, which I guess made me feel a little better.
After reading this book and having it work and now being several months into what I feel is a good relationship, I have had some time to think about why it works so well. I think it really is because too often we resist meeting people half way and changing the parts of ourselves and our behavior that simply do not mix well with others.

I don’t like playing games, but there are times when it’s not so much about trickery as knowing how to cue the right response, the one you’re hoping to get and failed at reaching before. I look back over these last several months (over a year) and I can’t believe the rollercoaster ride I’ve been on and the changes I’ve made in my life.
I still don’t believe that finding love solves everything or that anyone’s life depends upon getting their ex back or finding that one special person; but I do believe that my life is so much improved by Brian being in it that all that pain I endured makes sense. When you find the right person you want to spend your life with it doesn’t mean that you can’t live without them, it just means that your life may not be the very best it could be when they’re not in it.
I didn’t give up and I’m really happy. I hope that those of you who lost that wonderful guy and are trying to find a way to get your ex boyfriend back don’t give up either. Thanks for stopping by and all the luck and strength in the world to you.
